At my meeting at WW last night the topic was taking time for ourselves...and I don't do enough of this. So, while most of that was to make sure we eat right, exercise, etc. this is part of it - blogging! I usually am really good about documenting my life and my feelings. It's my journal and whether someone else reads it or not, it really is for me. So, right now, I'm taking time to blog at this VERY moment!
I am just now finishing up my last holiday proofing session today. From here on till Christmas, I won't have anymore "Christmas" sessions because there is no possible way to edit them and be able to order any prints before Christmas. The labs are getting backed up and I just can't manage it now.
I'm also super duper busy trying to get the new shopping cart stuff done for Pink Ink Studios. We're changing over to x-cart and I'm SOOO thrilled, but making the time to get stuff done for that has been pretty hard this past week. That's part of my crazed time involvement. I'm very happy about it though because it will make life so much easier for me as it's just a better cart program than Zen.
One of the things that I want to do before the end of January is a facelift to my bedroom. It needs holes filled and painting REALLY bad! I wish I could redo the floors, but I can't afford that. So, for now, it's paint and wallpaper. Maybe next year sometime I can do the floors. My office is in the bedroom and as you can imagine, it's very very tight in here. I have way too much stuff. I want to just take everything out and declutter and figure out what can get trashed. I have to streamline my life and the bedroom is where it should start. I'm going for a Parisian feel to my remodel - pink with black and white. I picked out my wallpaper. I am papering the one main wall that the bed will go up against and the other walls will be painted. Here's what I found:
I'm going with the one on the left - I have a plan for why I've chosen the darker one that I'll share later. My bed will go up on the center of this wall and I have picked out some sconces that I like - will probably change the shades to light pink ones:
It's the ones on the left there that are $28. They have a little crystal thing hanging off them but you can't see it in this picture. Anyhoo - yes, I walk around Lowe's with my phone out taking pictures of things. I'm a dork, but it helps me remember! I don't have any lighting in here other than a regular table lamp, so it will be nice to have some scones installed! MORE LIGHT!
At night, when I crawl into the bed, I've been watching this:
Oh my goodness! I LOVE IT! The Wizard of Oz is one of my top two favorite all-time movies (The Outsiders is my other) and when I saw this ad in People Magazine I flipped! So, I've been watching. It's so cool and so unique and the story and colors and all I love! Tonight is the third part - but will have to watch later since I am going out to my grandpa's with my mom and Aunt for dinner.
I ordered a new lighting setup that can easily travel with me and I have plans to do a fun little shoot this weekend if I can find the time to set things up. It came yesterday and I was thrilled to see it so quickly. Excited to be getting more things together for my photography business. It's been a lot of work and a lot of patience till I can afford to add to things. I have to figure out a few more things to spend money on before the end of the year for those extra taxes so will keep ya posted on what I buy.
Anyhoo - life is pretty crazy these days and I knew I had to stop for a few minutes to just blog. Now, I gotta get back in the game here and finish up things so I can shower and be ready for this evening. Hmmm, maybe I should do that before I get back to work.
